When Adyen receives funds without a payment service provider (PSP) reference, the funds are marked as unrecognized. These funds are automatically sent back to their origin on the following work day, but it may take the bank several work days to process the transaction.
We may be unable to automatically return unrecognized money in some exceptional cases, such as if we cannot determine the money’s origin. For instance, in some countries, law prohibits the storing of bank data, so we cannot see the sender’s bank account number.
